Their feminine, romantic colour truly looks beautiful on all skin tones. Pink diamonds are found in a large variety of shades from faint pink to purplelish pink, more vibrant pink and even fancy red. At Hirsh London, we love all the shades of pink diamonds and enjoy creating one-of-a-kind pieces of jewellery that highlight the natural beauty of each individual gemstone.

They are a mystery! Geologists still do not know how pink diamonds get their colour. The most accepted theory is that they are formed by extreme pressure due to geological shifts in the earth which actually change their molecular structure, making them appear pink, as opposed to other coloured diamonds that are influenced by trace elements during the crystallisation process.

They are so rare. The Argyle Diamond Mine in Australia is the world’s only consistent source of pink diamonds, accounting for more than 90 percent of the world’s natural pink diamond supply. However the Argyle Diamond Mine closed at the end of 2020 as the mine is now depleted – making pink diamonds even rarer than before. At Hirsh London we have a selection of Argyle Pink Diamonds, both in finished pieces and as loose gems that we can make into bespoke pieces of jewellery.
