Ozwald Boateng x Hirsh
Discover Ozwald Boateng's first-ever jewellery collection made in collaboration with Hirsh – a bold fusion of African symbolism and traditional British craftsmanship
SAVILE ROW MEETS CONDUIT STREET
In an exploration of identity, symbolism, and legacy, renowned British designer Ozwald Boateng has unveiled his first-ever jewellery collection — created in collaboration with Sophia Hirsh. This exclusive partnership marks a meeting of bold creative forces, transforming cultural narrative into fine jewellery through shared values of craftsmanship, a passion for colour, and heritage.

STORYTELLING IN JEWELS
Celebrating 40 years since the launch of his fashion house, Boateng — famed for revolutionising classic tailoring with vibrant colour and cultural storytelling — found a natural creative home at Hirsh, a family-run atelier known for rare gemstones and meticulous handcraftsmanship. The result is a collection that reinterprets meaningful symbols through exceptional materials, technique, and emotional depth.

A CREATIVE COLLABORATION
“This is an exciting new chapter in my artistic journey, and it was therefore really important to collaborate with someone close by,” says Boateng. “With Hirsh, I’ve been able to be involved with the jewellery at every stage of creation and I’m really proud of what we’ve created.”

A STATEMENT OF HOPE
At the heart of the collection is the Hope Chain — a bracelet and necklace inspired by the Adinkra symbol for hope and safety. First introduced as a textile motif in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, worn by Queen Ramonda, the symbol now takes on physical form in sculptural, precious metals. It becomes a wearable statement of resilience and optimism.

POWER OF LOVE
Also featured is the Power of Love pendant and earrings set that introduces a more feminine energy into Boateng’s design narrative. Elegant, symbolic, and emotionally charged, representing a graceful evolution of his philosophy.

SYMBOLIC AND PERSONAL
“This collection is about extending the storytelling of the brand beyond tailoring,” says Boateng. “It asks: How can people carry the essence of what we create without wearing a suit? These pieces are the answer — intimate, symbolic, and deeply personal.”

THE BOATENG AESTHETIC
Designed by Boateng and brought to life by Sophia Hirsh and the master artisans of the Hirsh on-site atelier, the collection channels African Adinkra symbols and the striking Kente patterns that have long defined the Boateng aesthetic — now reimagined into fine jewellery, created in precious metals with diamonds, gemstones and pearls.

STRIKINGLY ORIGINAL
“Working with Ozwald has been a true creative adventure,” says Sophia Hirsh. “We instinctively understood each other’s passion for colour and design. These jewels are full of life and character — capturing both of our spirits in a strikingly original way.”

PROXIMITY AND PHILOSOPHY
The collaboration is as much about proximity as it is about philosophy. With Boateng based on Savile Row and Hirsh on Conduit Street, the partnership is rooted in the very heart of Mayfair — a neighbourhood synonymous with British luxury, heritage, and craftsmanship. This union represents a powerful creative convergence: tailoring meets fine jewellery, and two master disciplines unite just steps apart.

A CELEBRATION OF HERITAGE
“This collection shows how two worlds can wonderfully collide to create something unique that celebrates heritage, individuality, and craftsmanship,” adds Hirsh. “It has been a genuine joy to translate Ozwald’s vision into something permanent and powerful.”

BRITISH CRAFTSMANSHIP
Founded in 1980, Hirsh London is one of the few jewellers in Mayfair to have an in-house atelier. Known for curating the world’s rarest natural colour gemstones, Hirsh creates timeless pieces that celebrate individuality and exceptional British craftsmanship.

FROM MAYFAIR TO THE MET GALA
The collection first previewed at the 2025 Met Gala, worn by Ozwald Boateng and his son Oscar Boateng in celebration of Boateng’s creative legacy. The collection will be available from 11th June 2025 – discover it online or in the Hirsh townhouse located at 46 Conduit Street, Mayfair.
